in your eyes I was already perfect - 2021
As a collector, a great deal of my time is spent contemplating what motivates me to add objects to my collection, but very little time is dedicated to considering when it is time to remove something. The crushed party hat I’ve been holding onto for three years that I used in In your eyes I was already perfect was one object I realized needed to be let go of. No alteration I could do would improve it in any way. In letting go of this object I wrote a letter from it to me, explaining that it had always known what I had been trying to figure out for years, it was already perfect.
